ADHD Conference (3)_edited.jpg

October 2-4, 2026
Virtual Event

Why This Conference Matters

Intersectionality is frequently left out of the conversation.

Black individuals with ADHD often navigate more than ADHD alone. Their experiences may also be shaped by racism, ableism, cultural misunderstanding, delayed identification, misdiagnosis, disproportionate discipline, and limited access to culturally responsive, affirming support.
The Black ADHD Experience Conference was created to bring these conversations together in one intentionally Black-centered, neuroaffirming, and anti-ableist space. This conference recognizes that meaningful ADHD support must consider the whole person—their culture, identity, relationships, environment, lived experience, and access needs.

What Makes This Conference Different

  • Black-centered

  • Neuroaffirming

  • Anti-ableist

  • Culturally responsive

  • Lived-experience-informed

  • Intersectional across education, mental health, healthcare, family, relationships, and adulthood

Who This Conference Is For

  • Black ADHDers

  • Parents/caregivers/families

  • Educators and school staff

  • Mental health and healthcare professionals

  • Advocates

  • Community organizations

  • People who want to better support Black ADHDers

What You'll Learn

Across three conference tracks, Education, Mental Health, and Couples, Parenting & Family, attendees will explore how ADHD can show up across the lifespan and in different settings.

You’ll learn more about:
  • ADHD identification, diagnosis, misdiagnosis, masking, burnout, and emotional well-being
  • IEPs, 504 Plans, accommodations, school discipline, advocacy, and support for Black ADHD learners
  • Parenting, caregiving, communication, relationships, family roles, and intergenerational experiences
  • Culturally responsive and neuroaffirming approaches that move beyond compliance and deficit-based thinking
  • Practical strategies, resources, and advocacy tools that can be used at home, in schools, in therapeutic settings, and throughout the community

Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of Black ADHD experiences, practical tools for providing more affirming support, and stronger connections to a community committed to ensuring Black ADHDers are seen, heard, supported, and valued.

About the Founders

Nate Huff

Co-Founder, The Black ADHD Experience Conference

6.jpg

Dr. Destiny Huff, LPC

Co-Founder, The Black ADHD Experience Conference

Dr. Destiny Huff, LPC is a late-diagnosed Autistic and ADHDer, therapist, non-attorney special education advocate, speaker, author, wife to an ADHDer, and mother raising neurodivergent children. She is the owner and sole advocate of Destiny Huff Consulting, LLC, owner and sole therapist of HRG Counseling & Supervision, LLC, and co-founder of The Black ADHD Experience Conference.

Her work centers neuroaffirming, culturally responsive, and anti-ableist support for neurodivergent individuals and families, with particular attention to the ways race, disability, culture, education, mental health, relationships, and family experiences intersect.

Dr. Huff wanted to create The Black ADHD Experience Conference after repeatedly seeing conversations about ADHD that failed to meaningfully center Black ADHDers. As a late-diagnosed Black neurodivergent woman, clinician, advocate, wife, and parent, she understands that ADHD does not exist separately from race, culture, family, education, mental health, or identity.

She envisioned a space where Black ADHDers would not simply be included in the conversation, they would be the conversation. A space where lived experience and professional expertise could exist together, and where Black children, adults, parents, couples, families, educators, clinicians, and advocates could have conversations that are often missing from traditional ADHD spaces.

Through the conference, Dr. Huff hopes to expand the conversation beyond symptoms, deficits, and behavior and toward identity, access, belonging, advocacy, relationships, mental health, education, family, and the supports Black ADHDers need to thrive without being asked to become less of who they are.
Nate Huff is a late-diagnosed ADHDer, husband to a neurodivergent wife, father raising neurodivergent children, and co-founder of The Black ADHD Experience Conference.

His decision to help create the conference came from both his personal experience with ADHD and his experience navigating ADHD within marriage, parenting, and family life.

After receiving his own diagnosis later in life, Nate recognized the importance of having spaces where Black people can talk openly about ADHD without shame, judgment, or stigma. He also saw how little space is often given to the experiences of Black ADHD men, husbands, fathers, partners, and families.

For Nate, creating this conference alongside his wife was an opportunity to help build the kind of space he believes the Black community needs: one where people can learn about ADHD, hear themselves reflected in other people's experiences, have conversations that may not happen anywhere else, and challenge the stigma that continues to surround ADHD within our communities.

His hope is that Black ADHDers and the people who love them leave the conference feeling seen, understood, supported, and less alone.
Why We Created The Black ADHD Experience Conference

The Black ADHD Experience Conference grew from our own lives.

We are two late-diagnosed ADHD adults navigating marriage, parenting, careers, family, and the process of understanding ourselves through a lens we did not have growing up. We are also raising neurodivergent children and witnessing firsthand how race, disability, education, mental health, relationships, culture, and family expectations shape the ADHD experience.

We knew we wanted to create something different.

There are ADHD conferences. There are Black professional spaces. There are conversations about parenting, education, relationships, and mental health. But there are far fewer spaces intentionally created to explore what happens where Blackness and ADHD meet.

So we created one.

The Black ADHD Experience Conference centers Black ADHDers across the lifespan, not as an afterthought, not as a diversity panel, and not simply as people being talked about, but as the people whose voices, experiences, expertise, families, relationships, challenges, joy, and perspectives shape the conversation.

Our goal is to create space for conversations about education, diagnosis, mental health, marriage, parenting, family dynamics, advocacy, accommodations, culture, stigma, identity, belonging, and everything in between.

Because there is no single Black ADHD experience.

And Black ADHDers deserve spaces where the fullness of those experiences can be seen, heard, understood, and celebrated.
